It’s not enough to just “create jobs” in order to build a thriving economy and generate a high standard of living. What’s important is to create the right kinds of jobs, and a good mix of jobs. Prosperity is about attracting and keeping employers that offer quality jobs and quality wages. Prosperity requires strong levels of local and regional economic activity that generates jobs and the local tax revenue necessary to support outstanding schools and other sought-after public services and amenities. The prosperity and way of life we've grown accustomed to will not continue unless, as a region, we meet global competition head on by providing an educated, skilled workforce and places to live that are attractive and affordable. After all, nothing breeds success like success. |
